Revising My Goals
Due to recent events in my life, I am definitely looking to reorganize my goals for this year. I'm still working on Ruby July designs as I can, but I think I'm going to have to push back the initial goals for pulling any prints. I've been helping my mom with her finances, so things on my end have been a bit tighter, and it just doesn't make sense quite yet to invest my extra money into a full printing setup. Just yet! It's still very much a goal for the next year or so. :) Now, my new focus is finding a job in design, or a job where I can spend most of my day and maybe stay at my current job part-time. I think Ruby July was the kick in the ass I needed (forgive the language!) to get back into the design field. I feel like since I moved to Minnesota, and was securely employed, I got kind of lazy. Lazy and scared, more than anything, to leave an incredibly stable job to potentially have nothing. But I realize life isn't any fun without any risk, and you can't really get anywhere without doing so. This year, instead of drifting aimlessly, I'm going to take control of my future and find as much happiness as I can. This is probably going to mean leaving my life of familiarity and taking huge risks (hopefully they pay off!), but I have high hopes that things will work out better in the end. Of course, I will continue to keep updating things here, and even if this all ends up being something only I really see, I think it's going to be great to look back on the journey. Hooray for change!
